    (my Mistake)(close)

    I have been trying to duplicate the game empire earth art of conquest so my son and i can play at the same time on my network.I cannot seem to find a way to get the game to play on both cds I have tried alcohol120% to emulate the cd on a virtual dr as well as virtual cd ..I can not seem to get the game to play no matter what i do.i have tried a direct copy of the cd and when i try to play the game (copied or emulated on virtual drive) the game will not start if i have task manager open while i start the game i will see a registry string for a min or two and then it disappears and nothing happens????the pc's i am working with is a desktop with xp and a laptop with 2k...any help would be great thank you

    Sorry but what you are asking to do is illegal and violates the AUP (acceptable usage policy) of this forum.

    Yes, the problem you're having stems from having a CD that's copy protected and isn't allowing you to duplicate it either onto another CD or your Drive.

    Unfortunately because it breaks copyright laws we can't discuss the issue here at VRDR.

    I don't think we would be very popular with games manufacturers in providing such information and as you have also only purchased one licence for the game there is little we can help you with on this subject but you are more than welcome to ask for assistance on any other computer related matters you have.

    i apologise i did not think that cloning a cd for my personal use would be an issue.considering i bought rights to use it ...again sorry this will not continue

    well then moving on ...I do use the original copy and only the original on my laptop with win 2k SP4 it has 40G hd with 128mb ram.(one thing i am not surfe of is the processor -bought on ebay-it says x86 family 6 model 8 stepping1 AT\AT COMPATIBLE?...well anyway trying to play the game empire earth when i start it the beginning splash screen appears the it sayS eeaoc.exe has caused a problem will be shut down and then it also states it will be making a log of this 1st it takes about 10 min or more to complete this log and once it is complete i try too look at it and there is no information for me on what happened??? In the specific time in wich this happens the log states (progressivelogs)

    (next) 22:58 nprotectservice "the service was started" event id 3
    (next) 22:59 ccpwdsvc "application started" event id 1.....

    and that is all I have no idea where the problem lies??

    No need to apologize, copyright issues are not always that straight forward and it's understandable that one might think that they can make a copy of a software CD if they own it.

    I'm going to move this to the gaming forum but if that doesn't get any help you could also try asking the question at www.sysopt.com , our sister site that has a larger gaming community.
