Pre Game videos problems
When attempting to load Command and Conqueror Generals the pre game video (EA GAMES bit) stutters and then plays about 1 second a minute. When it finishes playing the video it stops and will not move onto the next screen. I am using a Nvidia Geforce 3 ti 200 64 Mb, have the latest drivers and direct x files. How do I fix this problem? Thanks Will

Games can be real resource hogs. Some of the higher end games need a lot of RAM and a powerful video card. From the symptoms you described it sounds like C&C is too much for your system. If you still have the box or manual you can look up the games system requirements to see if you meet them. You may need to do some upgrading. A 64Mb card wont be enough for many of the bigger games.

My specs meet the game requirements. I have also ran the game on this PC before I have reformated it.
Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC.
System Model: A7N8X2.0
BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.8GHz
Memory: 512MB RAM
Page File: 254MB used, 993MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS
DirectX Version: DirectX 8.1 (4.08.0001.0810)
Graphics Card = Nvidia Geforce 3 64mb
Any ideas how to fix this annoying problem?
Thanks

When you reformatted did you reinstall the nvidia drivers and not use windows drivers? Add the directX 9c too and see if that helps.

I just reinstalled the Nvidia Drivers.
Also when I run the latest install program for direct x and click next after the agreement screen it says all componets have been installed.
However when I run dxdiag it still says Direct X 8.1 is installed any help?

we had this problem once at the net cafe i ran .
there a couple of things to try at the end of the target try adding restart+1
for example my battlefield install looks like this "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam\BfVietnam.exe" restart+1
simply do the sae with c&c that should remove the loop problem its a corupt file that causes it but tryign to identify it is a swine as i f memory servers its 1 of the datacab files.
the other option which is alot more risky is to remove then reinstall directx now i know it says it canot be done bt it is possiable there are a couple of programs outthere that do this
howerver and i cannot stress this enough do not attempt this without haveing first backed everything up on the pc onto a seperate hd or partition as ifiti goes wrong its kind of messy
mebe some of the other tech peeps can advise u more on this
i have done it befor on a win 98 pc and also on a xp machine 1 was sucesful the one of them and well lets just saythe other needed a repair install.
i curently have also posted your problem on the iguk forums hopefuly the games techie can figure somthign but he is slower than an amoeba at replying bless him:/
