Resolved Outlook Express Importing user. [Solved]

Short & Simple. OS is XP Pro , email client is Outlook Express 6.0. Recently had to reinstall due to power supply failure. Backed up messages & address books for two accounts. Went through import procedure for Outlook and all seems to transferred properly. How ever my account will not allow emails from my wifes account. Nothing has changed as far as addresses are concerned.
I would have posted error here but couldnt get it to copy paste. Basically it says server rejected senders email. I can send emails to her acoount so it is a valid account. She can receive emails from all other accounts that she has.

    Any ideas?

Cadd43--I understand that your wife can successfully send and receive emails and so can you, except that you cannot receive email from her.
Are your wife's emails to you being blocked by some setting in Block Sender or Message Rules in your account?
Or is all her outgoing email being blocked?

    Error message given

Below is the error message given I finally was able to get it to post.

"The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was '[email protected]'. Subject 'test', Account: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.1 Authentication Required', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78"

Cadd43--Assuming you can get technical service from Verizon, I would tell them the problem.
Something is inconsistent here. People sometimes find their ability to send email is blocked because of being (rightly or wrongly) a suspected source of spam. However, you say that your wife can send most email just fine. Rather it is your account that cannot receive it. That is inconsistent with the error message.

Cadd43 and Welshjim, just a wild shot in the dark but the "Authentication Required" triggered the thought that they should both check the properties of this verizon account (ISP) ....Tools/Accounts.....and see if the "Log on Authentication Required" is checked...(under the sever Tab)....and if it is...UN-check it......I know it sounds nuts, but my ISP solved this type of issue with this fix...

    Talking That was it !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Poppy that was the problem. I forgot all about verizon requireing users to do that. Thanks to both you and WelshJim for helping. My wife will be very pleased. Think I had a brainfart on this one.

poppy4--Good for you. What an obscure fix. Wierd that verizon required that setting. And it still is strange that only the wife's emails were being rejected by the husband's account.
