Hi, yea I am russian (rushing) never get a moments peace
Same in many parts of Asia, not just pirated software also pirated anything, watches, fashion, electrical goods, DVD's etc etc... great pity is many in these countries are so poor and these practices just help to maintain the poverty. You will never grow your wealth unless you produce something that has real value and can be sustained. I care little for MS's loss I care greatly for the tragedy this economic malise creates for these countries.

in europe, asia countries you can buy bootlegs copys of any software movies etc. There is nothing that bill gates or anyone else can do about this, i doubt that lowering a price on softare would help. In usa those that use pirate softare use it not because they can't afford the software but because they don't see a reason to pay for software when they can use there fdast adsl/cable and download that software in 20 min.

Hi,
I'm not sure it's the mass population of third world countries who are setting the standard for using pirated software, dvd, watches, clothes etc. The majority of these people can hardly afford a dvd player, TV, VCR never mind a PC.. loads dont even have a telephone line, electricity or running water etc.
In the oriental asian countries in particular, the boot leg products are aimed at Western tourists, some of whom are more than happy to buy the pirated products.
We in the west could pay maybe a quarter of a weeks wage (average income worker) on a piece of software, while in the third world countries the same piece of software could be the equivalent of a few months wage...
I don't condone it... but I understand why they do it?

While I agree with that sentiment/logic, I feel a lot of the third world countries do have products (mainly in agriculture and mineral) but are repressed by the western governments in their ability to really profit from them. I think that subject could get way to complicated and deep as there are other factors involved such as democracy/human rights etc.
Just my opinion eh!
