I know this is OT but it is important for UK members

Hi

MOBILE PHONE FRAUD

The following email originates from BT:

If you receive a phone call on your mobile from any person, saying that, he
or she is a company engineer, or telling you that they're checking your
mobile line, and you have to press # 90 or #09 or any other number, end
this call immediately without pressing any numbers. There is a fraud
company using a device that once you press 90 or #09 they can access
your "SIM" card and make calls at your expense.

Coincidentally, there is a new UK government site that's just been set up. One of the things it covers is email scams:

Usually whenever I get an email of similar subtance I go here http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html

Don't fall for the ACE mobile virus http://securityresponse.symantec.com...hone-hoax.html

or the jdbgmgr.exe virus http://securityresponse.symantec.com...file.hoax.html

or the sulfnbk.exe virus http://securityresponse.symantec.com...e.warning.html

My sister sent me the email about jdbgmgr.exe and how she had deleted it from 10 work PCs saving them from lethal infection - ironically she was working at a hospital at the time.

Imagine her surprise when I pointed her towards Symantec Hoax Page.
