Underline a word in OE 6 email address
I just went over to a friend's to try to help him send an email. A friend of his living in Thailand called him last night and gave him his email address. The first part of his addy before the @ is his last name underlined (and it MUST be underlined). I thought rich text in OE6 would allow this, but selecting Rich Text on his computer doesn't give me any buttons to choose. I just tried it on my computer and don't get any buttons either. BTW, both comps have XP Home/IE6/OE6. So, how can he underline that word? Thanks for any help.

That doesn't sound right. E-mail addresses are made up of standard characters, and none of those are underlined.
The easy way to find out what his e-mail address really is would be to have him send you an e-mail.

I've seen many addresses like:

Also, have the friend living in Thailand send an email and edit and or hit the reply to see what it really looks like.

Thanks for the replies. I'll go by there in a few days and get him to call the guy while I'm there.

Underlining (and italics, bold, colors, etc) is a formatting characteristic and is forbidden in the mail header. Only standard characters allowed.

dougj, I've always thought the same thing, that's why I want to talk to the guy in Thailand myself. My buddy here is not very computer literate, which is why he called me. I gave him my old Dell about a year ago, and all he uses it for is email. He must have gotten it wrong on the phone, but he says he's sure that's what he was told. My buddy insists it's a Thailand thing, doesn't seem to understand that computers/programs are the same all over the world.
