**URGENT** IOS error / windows protection error

My problem is this,
After I Install Windows 95 OSR 2 I get this message

Error while initialising Device IOS:
Windows Protection Error
You need to restart your computer
Press any key to continue.

Please help quickly, the installation is clean, Fdisk format C: from boot disk install windows.

HKEd's second link will probably the one to follow through.

It sounds like you have an AMD K2 350+ MegHz chip. These have known problems in connection with '95 OSR2, there is a link with the second one HKEd posted to how to resolve it...

You use a patch from either M$ or AMD. I used the AMD version - some folks say there are difference between M$ and AMD versions, the AMD being the preferred one. Can't advise on that issue...
