Wireless router
I have 2 computer, 1 desktop (WinME, wired NIC) and 1 notebook (W2K, wireless NIC), networked together via a Dlink wireless router. The connection to the notebook failed many times uintil I set the Adhoc mnode. Before that the infrastructure mode is used. I checked that the key and channel were all matched with the settings of the router but no connection.
Would anyone please tell me what are differences between the infrastructure and adhoc modes.

Adhoc is where you don't have an access point.

Thanks ecross.
Since I have a wireless router, I should use the infrastructure mode. There must be some mistake in the settings. I'll try again and post back the outcome.

Make sure you have an access point if you are going with the infrastructure mode. Some routers just serve as a router itself and not an access point, while others have access point capabilities.
