norton anti virus and outlook express 6 wont work together
Hi everybody,
This is my first post about a long running problem i am having with norton 2003 and outlook express 6.
What happens is i recently installed norton 2003 downloaded the most recent updates and then when i try to send or receive e.mail i get an error box.
I have checked with the microsoft knowledge base and it says to turn off email protection and script blocking i have done this and i can then send and receive e.mail. But whats the point of having norton E.mail protection switched off when thats what it's supposed to do?
I have also uninstalled norton and re-installed and outlook worked fine, but as soon as i get norton updates it all goes wrong again.
My os is xp pro.
I am hoping somebody out there knows how to fix this problem any help will be much appreciated.
thanks, kevvy.

Hi C D
Thanks for that it info it was very helpful.
It turns out that my firewall (zonealarm) was blocking an important part of norton access to the net which was causing the problem.
I have now fixed this and it seems to be working now.
Thanks again for all your help.
kevvy.
