Keep getting dead links with IE6

For some reason several links I click on come back as "Page not found" or "This URL was not found on this server". When I try another machine they work fine. I've tried disabling my firewall and anti-ipopup programs but still have the problem. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it? Thanks.

Note the possibilities of a block by a HOSTS file. That might explain why the problem occurs only with certain sites and on the one PC.
