DVD Professional
I have been plagued lately by e-mails promoting software named DVD Professional.
This software is supposed to be able to copy DVD's to a standard CD without any loss of quality.
I would like to know if anyone has came across this software, and if it does what it states.

I am surprised that it involves possible copyright infringement as it has been advertised on NBC News.
It also carries a copywrite disclaimer.

Software to back up DVD content onto CDs has been around for years now. The only way to keep the original quality with NO loss is to copy it in the exact same format. So, a 9 gig DVD title would take up 15-20 CDs. You'd have to get up and change discs every 10 minutes during the movie LOL
They can be converted into VCD format, but you'll still fit no more than an hour of ~VHS quality video on a single CD. You can compress with other formats such as DivX, and fit a three hour movie onto a CD and still have it be in a very watchable quality, but you'll only be able to play it back on your computer.
Keep in mind, all of this information refers to making backup copies of DVD discs which you already own

Legal issues aside for the moment.. Another thing to consider is whether you really want to support a company that thinks nothing of spamming your email box repeatedly. Also, being mentioned on NBC news is kind of a nebulous thing.. it could mean anything good, bad or indifferent.
