    ij600 compaq

can someone tell me is there a way to speed up a printer? after i downloaded xp my printer seemed to slow down some, i have the latest drivers but they did not help, also when i go to programs and click on printers it tells me no valid printer found on this computer but if i go into the control panel and click on print it will come up alright . when i click on file and then print it just starts to print before i can do any settings, but if i click on control p the then the printer seems to work fine. hope i made myself clear

If you have the XP driver from the printer manufacturer the only thing I can think of is a bad installation. Try removing, then re-installing.

jerryctx, have done that it seems like the printer listed under my programs and the one listed in control panel are two diffrent printers. they dont have the same tutorials or when you clik on cartridges in each one it shows a diffrent picture of the cartridges, but i only have one printer installed. i loaded the driver that came with the printer then went into device mgr and got new driver after i did that it showed two printers one had a check by it one had a x by it . should i just delete the one that comes up under programs?

I would delete both, then re-install the correct one.

I don't use XP so can't test/research. I posted a link in the XP forum asking for help. Sorry I couldn't solve the problem.
