Warning Hotmail was not able to complete this request
Warning Hotmail was not able to complete this request. Microsoft may contact you about any issues you report. This is the message I have been getting on some of my Hotmail email. Seems to have cropped up about 2 months ago. I use Firefox and have updated both Firefox and Hotmail on regular basis. Searched the sentence and one of the "fixes" was to delete Silver??? something and I did. (add on?) So what do I do next. One thing was to change to http but it said to go to "other options" on the Hotmail web page. I cannot find 'Other Options" anywhere. Anyway what the heck do I do to resolve?

What operation(s) were you trying to perform on the e-mails? Just reading them, or deleting them? When you retry the operation, does it work? It could just be a simple timeout issue - the operation was taking longer than expected, so you got the message. Removing SilverLight probably would not have any effect.

Read somewhere that FF 13.0 has issues with Hotmail. I cannot confirm what that issue is though as I retrieve my Hotmail via my Gmail...

It only happens to me when I get an attachment like a picture or an invoice. For example: One of my subcontractors will send me an invoice. Instead of just clicking on the download icon as normal like it used to be, now there is no download icon. And sometimes it will say download as zip and so I go through that process to get it. Mostly there is nothing and so I don't get the invoice. As you can tell by the answers in the two web sites Welshjim said to look at there are a lot of people with this problem.
I don't understand how one can retrieve 'Hotmail' through Gmail as Han says. How does one do that please.

Afraid I don't know ... and to make matters worse, according to Google, no one else on the internet has ever mentioned ever having your error message of:Warning Hotmail was not able to complete this request Are you sure that is the exact error message your seeing?

SpywareDr: This is the exact message. "Warning Hotmail was not able to complete this request. Microsoft may contact you about any issues you report" When I Bing it I get lots of sites where people have asked what the heck is going on. Here is the link off Google:

Google: "Warning Hotmail was not able to complete this request"(Which points to this thread here on VirtualDr)
bing > "Warning Hotmail was not able to complete this request"
No results found for "Warning Hotmail was not able to complete this request".
If you remove the word "Warning" from that string you do get a number of hits, but, that's not the exact error message that you posted.

Well I haven't received the message since I started this thread. Somebody up there is playing with me. And I am heading up to Oregon to do a Rouge river run for 9 days. So this will have to wait till I get back or it will have resolved itself. I will let you know. Thanks.
