FTP Site

When I try to get to the following URL, I cannot bring up any information in the Internet Explorer Browser Window. I have Windows 3.1 and my ISP is Compuserve and my browser is IE version3.03. The status bar indicates logging on to FTP server, but even after a few minutes, a blank window remains. How can I view the files on this FTP site? Thanks.

Thanks Vernon,
Tried the link you posted and...
The following messages appear in the IE's status box at the bottom of the IE Window but after two or three minutes, the only thing displayed is the hourglass. The big E in upper right indicates activity also.
Connecting,
Logging into FTP server,
Establishing,
Sending FTP commands
Receiving directory listing from FTP server.

Have you tried WS_FTP LE (Limited Edition)? You can download the "WS_FTP 16-bit for Windows 3.x" version from this page. Installation instructions and tutorial links are listed near the bottom of this page.

After using your link for FTP received the following results:
Within a few minutes of clicking the blue download link I get
Internet Explorer
Opening ws_ftp16.exe from http://vavalleyweb.com/free.htm
Some files can contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your computer. It is important that this file is from a trrustworthy source
What do you want to do with this file?
Open it
Save it to disk
Always ask before opening this type of file.
(I have save it to disk and always ask enabled)

Clicking on OK shows:
File Download
Opening:
ws_ftp16.exe from http://vavalleyweb.com/free.htm
Estimated time left
Download to C:\windows\temp\ws_ftp16.exe
Transfer rate

This message appears and no activity is filling the progress bar and the file never gets put on my disk.
Other than this problem and the one in the other post Internet Explorer is working OK.

Try either of these WS_FTP for Windows 3.1 (16-bit) links:

WS_FTP Pro v5.05 (474,912 bytes)

ftp://ftp.ipswitch.com/ipswitch/prod...s/f_x86t16.exe

WS_FTP LE v5.06 (974,938 bytes)

ftp://ftp6.ipswitch.com/ipswitch/pro...s/ws_ftp16.exe
Note: You'll need to purchase the Pro version after 30 days in order to continue using it. The LE (Limited Edition) version is free and, it works just fine.

If you can't get those links to work either, send me your email address and which you prefer and I'll email it to you.

Have the f_x86t16.exe file now.
The progress bar for the download never did fill up.
The file was downloaded anyway.

The download dialog box goes away after a couple of minutes.
Think this problem (progress bar not filling up) is related to the status of the "save to disk" and "always ask" checkboxes during the first download try after IE is installed.
