    Looking for scan/ocr software

I have a Canon scanner (3200F) and I'm looking for scan/ocr software. When I bought the scanner it included software, but now that I have switched to Vista, software doesn't work. Anyone recommed some good and reasonably priced scan/ocr software?

    Thanks

I installed the software from Canon, however when I click on either OCR or SCAN in the Canon Toolbox I get the following message:
"specifies the program where the scanned image is transferred"
The when I click on OK, it brings up an file explorer box looking for me to enter the location of a file (exe file). I don't have a clue as to what I should enter. On my XP system when I clicked OCR or SCAN it went right to ocr or scan. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks

Try pointing to the exe of your image editing program.

Or just start whatever imaging program you use and use that to run the scan, eg Photoshop is File - Import - scanner, Irfanview is File - Acquire/Batch scanning, Faststone Image Viewer is File - Scan Board

Thanks, now I have the image scanned in BMP format. Is OCR built into Canon software? If so, how do I access it?

I just don't remember having to do this when I ran Canon Toolbox on my XP system. Once I installed software there, all I did was Scan or OCR and didn't have to "look" for exe files.

    Thanks again,
    Rocky
