    winME to win98se

    Hi,
    I have a Gateway 500 MHz system tha has winME installed and is giving me problems. I want to go back to win98se.
    Is there a way to install win98se over winME without losing all the installed applications?

    "IF" you upgrade 98 to ME there "might" be an option to roll back...Since ME is much newer than 98, going backwards is probably a bad idea. PLUS, installing anything over a bad situation will generally make it worse...

    Should probably start with a fresh install of fix the issues with ME. (i'm one of the few people that actually liked WinME)

    Using it at home for almost 5 years with only two self inflicted crashes caused by my own stupidity.
