    bat as in batch file????

    is nothing more than a grouping of DOS commands, so you would want to study up on DOS.

    Hmm, Batch files might be used to issue grouped DOS commands most of the time, but if there was nothing more to them than that, Carenza might not be asking the question about the programming language.
