Will the OpenSource version of WORD97 run on a Windows 3.1 pc?

It would be a miracle for a 32bit application to run on a 16bit operating system.

See, noone remembers Win32X (32-bit) extensions for Win3.1? In any case, it probably wouldn't work with Office 97. There is a version of Word for Win3.1, it is a called Windows Write .

There is a viewer that allows you to view and print Word 97 documents in Windows 3.1, however, you cannot edit them.
I've heard of people installing version 1.0 on a Windows 3.1 machine that had the Win32s extensions, but the system requirements page for OpenOffice 1.0.x do not mention Windows 3.1.
