Instead of using my restore CD, I tried using the setup program that is usually in Windows/options/cabs. It has an OEM setup program, but when I run it, it says it can't be used from a Windows shell. So I reboot in MSDOS mode and run the program. It tells me to insert 95 startup disk and reboot to begin setup.

Well, I tried that, and it just boots to a command prompt from the startup disk. Why would they tell me to do this? Unless they intend for me to Fdisk the HD or something? In which case I would just use the system restore disk. Usually you run setup from Windows and it will reinstall itself. Mine doesn't seem to want to do that.

The only other setup in Windows/options/cabs on my computer is a setup program for the ATI graphics card.

Anyone have any idea how to get my OEM 95 to reinstall itself from the HD or am I stuck with my only option being a complete system restore using my system disk?
