    I never let Best Buy suggest what I should buy. I know what I'm looking for when I go in there, be it computer parts or tv parts.

    And thanks for your input, prouton. Yes, I have a LCD HDTV 32" Sanyo.

    The input for the TV says, Video 1, Video 2 or Video 3, those are my main options. Of course, there is also HDMI, which in this case won't even come into play.

    fink, something you said earlier, I didn't catch.

    Also worth noting is that the vcr/dvd combo output in all machines is set up so that only the dvd can be viewed using the 3 RCA/component outputs. To view a vcr you need to use the composite or coax inputs.
    I did not know this. But the reason for buying a new dvd/VCR was to get one of my own. As I explained earlier this is my nephew's combo.
