Buf, win98 (se) may indeed have better support for USB, but 98 ( fe ) , supports basic USB and so I believe did later editions of 95 , with appropriate drivers of course.
Using Win98 FE with 2x 4port usb hubs, usb mouse, usb keyboard, usb broadband modem, usb printer, usb 12in1 memory card reader and usb connected Casio digital camera ...
