    parser error

    I have been getting the error: Error parsing C:\Windows\system\URTTEMP\Config\machine.config parser
    returned error 0x80070003. It comes up at various times , no pattern. Can someone help me with this?

    It might help if we knew what programs you have running. Press ctl+alt+del and post a list of the programs running. BF

    All I have on is explorer, and internet explorer. I notice I get this error when I go to play a game online, download on line, or open a download. It just seems it happens at all different times.

    Hi Cacimo

    Please press the Ctrl key and the Alt key and the Delete key at the same time.

    A box called Close Program will appear, it will contain a whole list of things, you might need to scroll down to see them all.

    Copy this list down and post it here, it will help us determine what the message refers to. BF

    Parser is a program that dissects source code so that it can be translated into object code.
    Parsing is a very important part of many computer science disciplines. For example, compilers must parse source code to be able to translate it into object code. Likewise, any application that processes complex commands must be able to parse the commands. This includes virtually all end-user applications.
    I have no idea what urttemp is and I suspect there is your problem. Do you have an application that uses that folder?

    When I ctrl alt dlt, Here are my running programs:
    Internet explorer
    explorer
    systray... thats all.
    Heres the contents of the URRTemp folder...
    fusion.dll
    mscoree.dll
    mscoree.dll.local
    mscorsn.dll
    mscorwks.dll
    msvcr70.dll

    Your list of programs running causes me some concern. Not that altering this will in any way fix the problem, but from the list it is obvious that you do not have an anti-virus program or a firewall running.

    This is just asking for trouble these days, to be on the internet without taking these simple precautions.

    It could also be because of this that you are having a problem, but it is not possible to determine this from the information given.

    The reason I am saying this is, that because your machine has no protection, it may have been attacked, this attack may have caused changes which have resulted in what you are seeing.

    Others may choose to comment on what I have just posted. BF
