I wouldn't have a guess other than to just get the 2 NICs and a crossover, you can find NICs for $30/each and a crossover is gonna be maybe $15 for a long one since you're on 2 diff floors. I can't imagine doing a direct cable connection with that distance but maybe someone else can make a suggestion. Sorry.
