Ghost 2001
When i installed win XP in Fat 32 ghost 2001 worked ok but when converted to NTFS format an error message occurs and the HDD is not read. I suppose Ghost 2002 works?

I’m 95% sure and afraid, Ghost 2002 is the answer ($140 down here). I use Ghost 5.1 on W2K with NTFS. What I do is, leave a small partition (1.5GB) dedicated to FAT32. I then have an A:\ bootdisk with Ghost.env and Ghost .exe that I boot into and save an Image to the FAT32 disk. I have saved many a crash with this method. However, my old version of Ghost doesn’t work with XP even with a FAT 32 partition. I am at present exploring the possibilities of XPPro’s backup tool. It seems pretty sophisticated and when I get a free moment planned on starting a thread at VDr about it.

Ghost will not work on an NT system. I presume you are using Ghost within Windows and not from DOS?

I meant to mention that I use Ghost 2001 from DOS on an ME bootdisk that I altered to boot straight to "Minimal" and then to a batch file which runs Ghost. I back up both XP and ME (dual-boot) with no problem whatsoever.

Once I thought I was wrong but now I'm not so sure.

No, I boot into DOS with the Bootdisk>>Ghost.exe [Enter] Find the NTFS C: Drive and Copy to D:\ FAT32. works a treat! More than one way to skin a cat

This is the problem with more detail. A ghost bootdisk is used which boots into DOS. C Disk is formated by Win XP to NTFS. Doing a check disk (Ghost local/check/disk select c drive OK)gives the following error messages:
NTFS Error: Error reading File_volume MFT record
NTFS error: Error reading File_log MFT record
Abort: 25030, NTFS GetGlusterCount failed

Fellow Aussies,
Looks like Ghost 2002, 140 skins is worth it for me. I am grabbing as it has a lot of features of which I cannot comment on as i don't have it yet. however, i believe it has some tricky CD-WR qualities.
