    VIRUS SCANNER

I installed WINXP on my computer but I don't see a virus scanner. Does anyone know which one will work with this OP system?

I also installed XP and my Mcafee VirusScan no longer worked. I looked everywhere and Norton 2002 appears to be the only one that works at the current time. I'm sure once it goes public this month more companies will begin releasing patches.

I just installed InoculateIt and it seems to work.

    XP Corp version

GodMonstr said InoculateIT works with XP, and that might be a good choice since InoculateIT is FREE.

Computer Associates no longer provides a download for it on their site, but they do continue to support the program with virus definition updates. Here is the only link I've found where you can download version 5.2.9, which I believe is the latest.

I installed this program (on Win98) and I've been able to do updates without a Registration number. I chose a Custom Install, and when presented with the dialog box regarding Registration, I pressed the 'Next' button instead of the 'Register Later' button. Since installing InoculateIt, I've been able to update my virus definitions 7 times using the Auto Download tool.

InoculateIT was included on the Beta and RC CD. I don't know if it will be included with the final release or in the MSDN downloads.

I've been using Norton/Symantec Utilities since 1988 with every operating system I've ever used. I strongly recomend Norton AntiVirus 2002 which will work with XP.
