Printer Problems
My printer completely disappeared in Win 2000. When I tried reinstalling I got an error stating that "my printer subsystem is missing". I have not added or changed anything recently. The only way I could resolve this by reinstalling Windows 2000. Any idea what caused this?
Thanks for your help.

Hi Burgere,
No telling what caused the problem that you encountered. If it happens again, look in Start, Settings, Printers and see if there is anything showing there that is related to the printer in question. If so, see if you can delete it, and then see if you can add it back.
Happy computing!

You could have made sure that the Print Spooler service could start automatically (as opposed to manually). I can't think of which other services might be needed, but I once made the mistake of changing some that I wasn't supposed to and one of the side-effects was that I couldn't use the printer.
