    Unwanted toolbar

On my desktop with XP with FireFox (Yahoo edition) ... I see an unwanted tool bar and an accompanying search screen . The toolbar has elements “Web Images Videos News More and Results by bing”. The search screen shows an icon of a magnifying glass and the word “entrusted.” When I click View/Toolbars I see one listed as “entrusted Community toolbar” but it is unchecked.

Are the toolbar and search screen related? How can I delete and remove them?

    Thanks.

entrusted Toolbar is a Conduit toolbar.

Then get with Broni in intensive care to get the left overs.

    Train:
    Reporting back.

    1) I followed the instructions in the URL you sent for removing the unwanted Conduit toolbar, namely:
    1. In Firefox, select Tools > Add-ons
    2. Select the Extensions tab
    3. Select the Serif <product name> toolbar
    4. Click the Remove button
In step 2 I also removed a few other oddballs that I did not want.
I then Restarted and went to FF ... only to see the Conduit screen and toolbar reappear!

    2) I also went to Tools/Options and changed my homepage (from the Conduit URL that appeared there).
    Still the Coduit screen appeared.

    3) I returned to Tools\Options and this time selected “Return to Default” on the Homepage option. After Restarting and going to FF, I now find The Conduit stuff is gone. I now get a relatively unobjectionable Yahoo screen.

Should I still check in with Broni for further cleanup?

I’ll report back if the erratic behaviour of my pc (as described in a previous post yesterday) diminishes.

    Thanks for all your help.

Reboot a couple times and make sure it stays gone.

It showed back up on me 2 days ago and had to use a couple of Broni's tools to get it cleaned out.

Maybe you will be luckier than I was.
