    Resolved [RESOLVED] Help! I would like to import my saved .dbx files over to windows 8 email

    Had to buy a laptop for my neighbor and am having a devil of a time trying to transfer over the dbx files from her
    outlook express 6 ( from xp ) to ANY email account whether it is hotmail / gmail/ thunderbird that can be accessed
    thru windows 8..

    I have the dbx files backed up on a flashdrive and they work transfer great for men on my windows 7 platform using hotmail.. it wiorka and all is ready to go

    walk over to the windows 8 platform and log into hotmail differnat looking site there is NO area to implort the files to..

    tried to find this on youtube and most if not all videos are for windows 7 ..

    Hotmail is being discontinued. All Hotmail accounts will eventually be converted to Outlook.com accounts. You can keep the Hotmail e-mail address, but the Hotmail user interface will go away. I could not find any results in a quick Google search to import .dbx files into Outlook.com

    O M G ! . . . Outlook Express? The last version of Outlook Express was released before some of the kids in Junior High School were born. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were running the country. Frasier, Friends and X-Files were popular. Heck, we were still using VHS tapes.

    Why in the w o r l d would anyone need email that old?

    Finally installed Thunderbird and it did the trick Had to transfer over the folders of dbx of the old ten year old emails form her outlook express ..
