Moving large files
I have a rather large (7.4GB) .mkv file on one of my PC's that I need to move to another PC so I can hook it up to my TV via a HDMI cord. This file won't fit on any of my 8GB thumb drives for some reason. What would be the best way to make this transfer?

Most flash drives come formatted with FAT32. FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB. You would need to either format it as NTFS or exFAT.

If that doesn't prove successful then you could also split the file into two files each less than 4Gigs and then reassemble them after the transfer.
A program like 7-zip would do the job.. Spanning the mkv file into a split archive from which you could extract it on the second computer.

There are other file splitting options.. Winzip, Winrar, HJsplit and others all can do the job.

In this case, reformatting the thumb drive did the trick.
Once again, you guys come up with a helpful response. Thanks a lot!
