    ZoneAlarm and Hibernation

    Hi there,

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but here goes.

I run XP Pro sp3 and I like and use hibernation regularly. Also had (note the past tense) Zone Alarm and AVG installed. Decided to see how the new ZoneAlarm with firewall and anti-virus was like and to date, I kind of like it.

But now, I seem to have lost hibernation and the only change to the system has been the new ZoneAlarm. I have hibernation if upon booting, I go into hibernation, and it is checked in Control Panel/Power Options. But use the internet, or PhotoShop, and upon attempting hibernation, I receive a 'Insufficient API resources' message.

Is this a known bug? Or what could have changed? If push comes to shove, I will restore from an image that I took before installing Zone Alarm.

    Thanks

    Rex

Thanks for the link but does not address my problem. i have 3gb of RAM and until Zone Alarm Firewall + Anti-Virus, hibernation was not a problem.

I know some people do not like it, but I use it regularly, shutting down the computer in the evening for a reboot in the morning. Hibernation has never been a problem before.

I have also noticed another trivial issue; I use Robo-Form, and the VirtualDR log in no longer works. My user name is not entered. Could this also be a Zone Alarm issue?

Did you see if the hotfix at SpywareDr's link made any difference?

Too early to say. It allowed Hibernation after 20 mins of internet activity but 30secs later, when I brought it out of hibernation, I had no mouse input and a message saying that there were unrecognized USB devices.

This looks like another case of if it wasn't broke, don't fix it!

Initial reaction is that SpywareDr's link has made a difference. Time will tell.

    Thanks
