Setting Administrator active:no removes the administrator from the security pop-up???
Hello;
In the past I've been able to set Administrator /active:no (via the net user command), and have always been able to execute a RUN AS to accomplish any functions that require admin authority ...
However, under our Vista Home Premium pc w/ SP 2, the resultant pop-up dialogue will NOT even list the Administrator logon-id anymore ... ??? So I can't run any Admin tasks unless I cold boot into Safe mode, and restore the Administrator logon-id again ...???
How can I correct this?
(This is on a pc that the rest of the family uses; so they don't want to see the Administrator logon-id when they start the pc, but I have not given the "family" logon-id admin authority...)
Thanks in advance!!
Thanks!!! David

If you want to hide a user account from the Login screen, but still have it available, you could rty the following:
