If it was my laptop, I would try a Windows System Restore first. If that failed, I would restore my own System (image) backup. If that also failed, I would then reinstall the factory restore. If it still wasn't working, it would point to a hardware issue.
I've done the Windows Restore point part at the early stage when this problem started and it didn't work.

I've never done a System (image) backup restore before, so I guess this is a good time to find out if the ones I made (using Macirum, Arconis, as well as Easues - yap, 3 different programs) will work !! It'll also be interesting to know which will work even though at that time when I made these images, I did verified that they are ok. All I need now is time and energy. Will post back when I get round to doing it. Thanks for all the help.
