Any Free Drivers To Be Had??

Someone donated a couple old computers "E machines" to me & I decided to overhaul them, just to have something to do. The drives were wiped clean so have to start from scratch. I need drivers for the MB's but don't want to have to spend $30. or so, for a driver software program. They might even be a rip-off.. Was wondering if there was a free-bee about, that would let me update the drivers? I find lots of things that says they'r free till I install the program only to find out that it wasn't free after all. Thank for any input....

Doing google searches for drivers is a PITA... can't find any and the alleged ones you do find are either for sale or you need to buy some crappy program that'll tell you you need a driver but not where to get it or you need to pay more only to find out it's the wrong one.

As Train says the manuf website is always the best bet. Sometimes takes a bit of searching to find an archive of older drivers which is where the advanced search on google can be helpful.. use it to search the domain only for whatever driver(s) you're looking for .. eg- "gateway.com".

While you are working on those eMachines, open them up and check the labels on the power supplies. If they say Bestec, plan on replacing them. Bestec power supplies are known for failing and taking out the motherboard.
