[RESOLVED] Printer problem
Hi All,
I have a problem with an HP Laser Jet 5M printer connecting to a computer with an OS of Windows XP. I am using parallel for connectivity. My problem is when I send a document to be printed; the printer screen indicates "data received" and then displays "ready" and will toggle back and forth between the two messages. Nothing prints. I have tried using several drivers in the LJ-5 family and even downloaded a driver (circa 2002) from HP. That didn't help either. When I originally connected the printer to the computer, I thought "plug and pray" would recognize something has been added. No plug and pray displayed. I then went the route of installing the printer and drivers as mentioned above. I am really scratching my head on this one. Your help would be vastly appreciated.
Many thanks,
John

Well, my face is a beautiful shade of crimson. I remembered what a techs first move is. Unplug the cable and reinsert it so it is firmly in place. It's amazing what problems can disappear when you follow the first rule of repair.
Thanks anyway,
John
