need freeware anti malware programs

hi, looking to download some free anti virus, anti spyware and adware programs. I've been out of the loop for a while, and still using spybot exclusivly. Can anyone suggest some newer programs? I prefer programs that I can download and install on my pc, and not online scans

For antivirus programs many of us recommend Avast, Microsoft Security essentials, and Avira (although Avira has had some issues lately so it may be dropping off the list).

For antispy it's malwarebytes for sure, Superantispyware does a good job too. Spybot s&d, hijackthis and Adaware are no longer recommended.

Of the list that Train gave you, some of those need to have the logfiles analyzed by our malware experts.
