One more thing. FF 3.6.28 was the last update for 3.6. Any users still on that version (or earlier) should start seeing a "Major Update" message.
If you really need to stay on 3.6,
go into Tools - Options - Advanced - Update. Uncheck Automatically check for updates to: Firefox
