Error message when opening Mozilla
I’m running Vista Home Premium and I recently upgraded Mozilla. Now when I open Mozilla I get the following error message: what happened:TypeError: this.installDir is null. When you click on “OK” or close out the error message, Mozilla will then open.
From my research, if you disable Java Script in Mozilla the error will not show. It did work however you need Java for web sites. Is there a fix for this? I was thinking of uninstalling Mozilla and reinstalling.
Thanks!

That would be the best bet.

Thanks Train, I'll that. I would think if it was common problem there would be another Mozilla update by now.

Never heard of that problem. Did you try disabling/uninstalling addons? There is a possibility that your profile is messed up, not the Firefox files. Delete your profile folder, and allow FF to create a new one. You may want to save your places.sqlite file first.
In Vista/7, C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default
And no, uninstalling FF does NOT remove the profile folder.

I'm trying to do that but when when I click on add-ons, I then get a "unresponsive script" error message and Mozilla bombs out...not responding.
I was also thinking of a going to a restore point about 2 weeks back.

This is another error message I'm receiving;
Unresponsive script
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623
It keeps popping up after I close the message out. Also, under tools, add-ons won't open.

Why not try another browsers such as safari and Google chrome. Have you checked your computer if there is a virus?

I also use IE which works fine. That error message doesn't pop up anymore after the safe mode fix. IE seems to run slightly faster right now.
Thanks,
Mike
