    Resolved [RESOLVED] COMODO FIREWALL

I have been using the free Comodo Firewall and have always had it starting when computer boots up. I have now noticed this is not happening. I cannot find an option in the software to allow it do that. Something keeps it from starting up at boot time. Any ideas to help me become protected. As usual, TIA.

Comodo has following registry entries. See, if you have them all...

    "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"
+ "COMODO Internet Security" "COMODO Internet Security" "COMODO" "c:\program files\comodo\firewall\cfp.exe"

    "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services"
+ "cmdAgent" "COMODO Internet Security Helper Service" "COMODO" "c:\program files\comodo\firewall\cmdagent.exe"

    "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services"
+ "cmdGuard" "COMODO Firewall Pro Sandbox Driver" "COMODO" "c:\windows\system32\drivers\cmdguard.sys"
+ "cmdHlp" "COMODO Firewall Pro Helper Driver" "COMODO" "c:\windows\system32\drivers\cmdhlp.sys"
+ "inspect" "COMODO Internet Security Firewall Driver" "COMODO" "c:\windows\system32\drivers\inspect.sys"

    "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\Appinit_Dlls"
    + " C:\Windows\system32\guard32.dll" "COMODO Internet Security" "COMODO" "c:\windows\system32\guard32.dll"

Many thanks Broni and without checking those registry entries, I was in MSCONFIG a bit earlier and found that somehow the firewall was turned off !!
How? I don't know but I suppose I accidentally removed the check mark at some time. However, 2 days ago, I had to use an Acronis backup image to get my machine to bootup. It could have been that Comodo was turned off at or during the backup procedure when I created the image backup. I do recall that I was having difficulty deciding whether to allow the Internet Security feature run or not and I could have thought, rightfully so, that that would interfere with the Avast. I am still uncertain about this even now but I have allowed Win Patrol to allow it run. Any comments you have about that are most welcome.

OH no, don't ever loose any sleep over my threads but does the Internet Security, if running in Comodo, cause a problem? If it does, then I should delete it and try for the freebie without security--if I can find and install it.
Have been out of town and returned tonight, thus the tardy reply.

If you mean a whole Comodo Security Suite (AV + firewall), then no, you can't run it along with Avast.
During installation, Comodo gives you an option to install, firewall only, AV only, or both.

I have tried twice now to do what I thought, and what you reported, and still I seem to have the full Comodo with AV installed and is reported as such.

Download Security Check from HERE, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
    * Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
    * A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

From what I can see, you don't have Comodo AV running. Only firewall.
But, you have also Windows firewall on. You have to turn it off, if you want to use Comodo.

Done. I thought I had turned off the Windows FW this afternoon but guess instead I just looked in on it. Well, now it is off and am using Comodo to treat incoming and outgoing traffic.
Don't really know why CIS is shown but what the heck. Many thanks again Broni.
