Sound and TV Capture cards conflicts in XP
Hie guys! I've an on board sound card and a PCI Tv card, when I install windowsXP, I'll have to move the speaker jack to the sound card for sound from the hard drive MP3 and movies, and if I want to watch the TV, again I'll have to move the speaker jack to the TV card. That other cable that connects to TV card audio out to Sound card Line in will be connected and will only work when I'm using Vista. The TV card came with it's drivers cd and the pc motherboard also has it's chipset and driver cds (Vista & XP). When I install the TV card drivers in XP, the installation completes well but right at the end sends a message like "error installing device...etc", but with Vista the driver installation completes well without an error message. When I load with TV application in XP, the audio source will be the sound card and no other option to change to Line In as is report in Vista. What could be the problem, is it the motherboard chipset, TV cards drivers or WinXP? I've tried XP service Pack 1, 2 & 3 but did not help. Heeellllppppp!!!!

Are you definitely using WinXP drivers?
I'd say that if it all works OK in Vista then there's a more than 90% chance that it's a driver issue.

Sound and TV capture cards conflicts
after installing XP, I use the XP motherboard chipset cd to instal chipset drivers, sound and graphics card driver and I then use the TV card cd to install the card's drivers and application program. I tried to rule out the issue as well but couldn't think of any other cause of the problem.

You should update all the XP drivers. The mobo and card install CD's likely have old drivers and newer drivers are available from the mobo site or better yet from the chip/card manufacturers, ex. ATI, Nvidia, Realtek , etc. If you need help, post your mobo, audio, tv card etc. info .
