    windows 200

    when i switch on my pc it seems to work normally until it's time to go to the main page it doesn't go to that main page and it says file corrupted, do a virus-check. i dont get it how i can do a virus check if it doesn't go to the maine page. i hope someone can help me sort out the problem.

    Can you boot to SAFE MODE?

    If yes, try running you av program from there.
    And which program do you have?

    hi yeah i can safe boot it but it still doesn't go to the main page,it still says file corrupted run a virus check.what do you think i should do.

    What do you mean by "main page?"
    Are you refering to the Desktop?
    If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

    when i say main page, i mean when u log on into a computer then there is the page, where u can click on programs and open for example microsoft words and there my computer, my documents etc.

    i have tried to open it with safe mode but it still doesn't go to the desktop, i can only access the task manager. can i used that to make the computer work if yes how?

    Try new Task" and type in Explorer, and hit Ok if you can, If not hit the Enter key.

    See if that will get it going.

    yeah i did that still doesn't do anything, there are loads of processes going on which i can't end.it's supposed to be a good computer though.
