    Resolved [RESOLVED] Toshiba Hang Up??

Tecra 8000 on '95. Hanging up at shutdown and can only RESET (ouch!)to get out and restart. Run all available Norton disk utilities and no errors. Sometimes first get loss of SHIFT/UPPERCASE capability in several programs, then freeze.
REALLY need some help as major presentation next week.
    Thanks to any and all!!!

Since it is a timely matter, do one last check for viruses and then remove Norton. Reboot. Let it spin its wheels a couple minutes and reboot again. Norton may be the culprit.

HI Zeemer, thx for the comment. Problem is i had originally installed McAfee AntiVirus and think(??) probs may have started with it. Uninstalled it and then bought Norton AV for protection.

I had a similar problem with McAfee only was in Startup and Shutdown. Approximately 15 minutes for each. I removed McAfee and all problems went away. One thing I have learned with WIN95 never assume it is locked up. Some process may be going on in the background and is just taking time. I have developed a rule of thumb to use before Resetting or Powering Down. I wait until I think it can't possibly be doing anything that long, and then wait that much longer. I have found many times that that was the case, it simply was busy with some thing or some application. Don't tempt yourself by sitting there watching it. Go away for a while.

Have you checked Device Manager for problems? Disabled APM (Advanced Power Management)? Keyboard may just need to be cleaned...
