[Home] Unable to Delete Update to Adobe REader 8

I use Avery's "Design and Print Online" capability to print business cards and have had good success in the past. Yesterday, however when I reached the "print" phase I got a notice -" Cannot Launch Acrobat". After several tries, I decided to reload the program but it would not reload over the existing program, so I attempted to delete the entire Adobe Reader from my machine and start over. I went to the "Add/Delete" capability in my control panel. When I highlighted the Adobe Reader for deletion, there is a "change" (which was installed a couple of months ago) which says "Cannot be removed". I have been told that the Change is corrupted, but there is a way to remove it manually. this involves my going into the register, which I am not wild about!!( I don't trust me).

I find several "Registry repair" programs on the market, and wonder if one of them will take off the corrupted file.

FWIW. I am running exactly the same setup on my laptop, and have no problems with it. Will really appreciate some advice!!

When you choose print in Design and Print Online I am guessing you are printing to a PDF creator? Possibly when you installed Adobe Reader 8 your default pdf creator (which usually installs as a virtual printer in the printers folder) changed to another printer that is not available or not a pdf creator. Because the D & P program is trying to print to the wrong printer you may be getting the error. Check to see what is the default printer for the D & P program and change it back to the original.
