Resolved [RESOLVED] Acrobat pdf printing without background

I have a .pdf document that has a background on page 1. It looks fine when viewed on screen, but when printing the document it would look better without the background. I would like to be able to print this document without the background. I know I can create two versions of the document, one for viewing and one for printing, but it would be simpler if it was possible to use one version for both purposes. If anyone knows any way to accomplish this either with the pdf creation process or using Acrobat Reader, ideas would be appreciated. The page in question also has white text. That can be changed with a setting in Reader for screen display, but it doesn't seem to affect the printed version.

    Thanks.

    Update:

With Acrobat 7 and later, you can add a background and select whether it should be printed and/or displayed, as well as what pages to apply it to. The text color did need to be changed, but that is minor.
