I chat on IRC with trillian from www.ceruleanstudios.com and it logs my chats automatically as a .txt file.

mIRC lets you log automatically or after the fact too. What client are you using?

I installed that program and I tried to connect it to the IRC chatroom and it wont connect. It just keeps saying connecting then disconnecting on and off and the ball flashes on and off real fast.

Ummm I looked everywhere and there is no section for tools. I heard that the chats might be automatically saved to your computer, if so, where would they be?

Tools | Options in mIRC's menu, then IRC | Logging in the dialog that pops up. Alternatively, if you press Alt-Minus in a window, you can use Buffer | Save and Log As...

Ummmmm I don't see that anywhere. I get in to this chat all the time through a website. That's probly why it doesn't have those features. And it's a conference room. Also, I've looked at how mirc chat rooms look, and they look way diff. than this. How can I do this?

If it's a website Java applet, you're limited to whatever the applet gives you. You could try pressing Ctrl-A to select all and then Ctrl-C to copy, but that may or may not work (and may only save a recent bit of the chat).

If you can find out what IRC server and channel name the applet is using as a back-end, you can potentially connect to the channel with a real IRC client and get more functionality.

Yea, it's a website Java applet. Ok, I'll try that method.

Yea ok, maybe I'll try to connect to it with a real IRC client.
