[RESOLVED] Wireless connection and Zonealarm
I am running a laptop and a PC, both with XP Home SP2. I have a wireless router (Livebox supplied by Wanadoo). I can access the internet from both machnes using the router, and have finally managed to set up a woreless network between them.
The problem is that I can only open my shared folders if I switch off Zonealarm. In the ZA help it says that a wizard will open when a new wireless netwoork is detected, but this hasn't happened. It doesn't give any instructions on how to access it manually. I tried uninstalling ZA and then reinstalling after I had set up the network, but that didn't help.
Can anyone help? At the moment I am relying on Windows firewall, and I don't really trust it.
Many thanks

Hello Kestrella,
If you prefer to use ZoneAlarm then go ahead to use it. With ZoneAlarm installed, open the firewall program and then configure it to allow file and printer sharing. You should be able to add the ip addresses assigned to the computers to the Trusted Zone.

Thanks for your help.
How do I find the IP addresses of the computers?

Click Start -> Run -> type cmd and press Enter. Type ipconfig. You'll need to do this on both computers and enter the ip addresses into ZoneAlarm.
