Geforce 4 MX vs. Ti 4200
Hey guys,
I recently got my hands on an Nvidia Ti 4200 with 128 MB of RAM and I wanted to check with you guys to make sure it's better than the card I'm using before I install it.
The one I'm currently using is the onboard video that came with the motherboard. It's a geforce4 MX and it shares 32 MB of my system RAM.
I was going to use the Ti 4200 simply because it has it's own RAM, but I can also change the onboard video so it uses 128 of my system RAM instead of 32. If I added another stick of 512 RAM then i think I'd be able to afford to allocate the extra 128 to the onboard video.
So if the amount of RAM each card has was equal, then which one would perform better?
My system:
Windows XP Pro w/ SP2
AMD athlon XP barton 2800
Biostar mobo M7NCG400 Micro-ATX w/ Nvidia Geforce4MX video card, onboard LAN
Kingston PC2700 RAM - 1 stick of 512
Western Digital WD800JB hard drive-
80 gig
CASE: ASPIRE XDREAMER II ATX w/ 350 watt power supply
