connection problems
Hi Guys,
Trying you with this problem :
I have a problem with IE 5.5, but don't know where it might lay. After / during I run an audio or video file or streaming video etc., my connection continues (from the status of the modem) but I can't reach any sites, it just seems to hang (no bytes are sent or received) and eventually goes to a standard default page (press re-fresh, server couldn't connect, DNS error etc). Sometimes I have to disconnect and re-start my pc to get back online, sometimes simply disconnect and dial again. Also, if I listen to radio online for instance, the connection eventually stops, especially if I try to connect to another site at the same time. It has become very annoying, I know at this stage that if I run a large file while online, my pc will stall while the connection will stay intact.
I run an 11-month old 600mhz pentium pc, windows 98, 128mb ram, 56k modem, dvd etc.
I'm wondering if the problem lies with my settings, my ISP (although I’ve tried a couple, with the same result) or a conflict with some software.
Thanks in advance.
