The first program I downloaded did nothing., and there are dozens of others on the web. Can someone recommend a good freeware one?

No, but i was introduced to it at acomputer workshop. Thanks , Midknyte, but it's Chinese to me.

I haven't any idea how to use this, even with the help file. I need something really simple, just clicking a button. I just want to convert some songs to put on a CDR.

All you do is open the .wav file and then export as an MP3. You will need the lame_enc.dll also.

When you try to export as mp3, Audacity will ask you for the location of the lame_enc.dll. You can put it in the program folder if that's simpler for you.
