I searched for this, but I'm not sure what I should have searched for and maybe someone has a quick answer. I raise my taskbar so that it's 4 lines instead of 1 and then I lock it. I reboot and it will go down by 1 line. Reboot again it will go down by 1 line again. Next reboot same thing until it's only 1 line again and it stays at one line. I thought I remember someone having this problem before. Does anyone know what causes this? I have windows xp pro.
If anyone isn't sure what I'm talking about let me know I'll try to explain it better. I guess I could post screen shots.
That is an unusual problem with the taskbar.
The only similar problem I have seen was caused by having the "Language Bar" enabled, but that applied to a vertical taskbar.
The Taskbar Repair Tool fixes many problems. You could give it a shot
Well, I moved the taskbar so that it was 2 lines. I used this tool to try and lock the size and position and it put the taskbar back to one line. Thanks for your reply though.
I have an update. After some testing I found out that it's limited to one administrater account. The other accounts keep the task bar at the size and space I left it. On another note. The administrater account that is having the issues right now is not listed in the user accounts control pannel. Using control userpasswords2 I noticed that the account that doesn't show up in user accounts is part of the debugger users group as well as the actual administrator account.
