Can you please do the following.
===============
Before we begin, let's move HiJackThis to it's own folder; like c:\HJT. When we're done 'cleaning' off your system, we're going to 'flush' the temporary folders which, with HiJackThis in it's current location, we'll lose both the program and the backups it creates. These backups are important in case we need to restore any 'fixed' entry(s) later.
Also move the "Backups" folder, for HiJackThis, if present.
===============
Run HiJackThis, click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Instant Access] rundll32.exe p2esocks_1046.dll,InstantAccess
O16 - DPF: {1CD49DC9-FD88-41FA-B892-47E037267D45} - http://akamai.downloadv3.com/binari...ESS_1059_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {31DDC1FD-CEA3-4837-A6DC-87E67015ADC9} - http://akamai.downloadv3.com/binari...net32_EN_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {54C75FB0-6B8B-4278-BF7B-77036F15A69E} - http://akamai.downloadv3.com/binari..._1041_EN_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {95460ABD-946A-46FF-9F56-268718323EEE} - http://scripts.downloadv3.com/binar...ESS_1068_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {A1C392A2-B274-46DB-89BE-1FBD476B9C93} - http://scripts.downloadv3.com/binar...ESS_1065_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {B2B0AEDF-7CDF-4792-BB67-7654AD1E1B13} - http://scripts.downloadv3.com/binar...svc32_EN_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {BA749BC1-143E-430D-B1DA-1D2AF67A3658} - http://scripts.downloadv3.com/binar...ESS_1069_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {C6760A07-A574-4705-B113-7856315922C3} - http://akamai.downloadv3.com/binari...svc32_EN_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {D8B94E9A-A34B-4253-BF48-C7CB7F2CFDB0} - http://scripts.downloadv3.com/binar..._1046_EN_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {E114CD5B-17CE-4807-890E-7B1EDF9F2E5E} - http://scripts.downloadv3.com/binar...ESS_1066_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {E24E8472-89B7-479F-8AD8-BBD7206A6A02} - http://scripts.downloadv3.com/binar...ESS_1067_XP.cab
Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".
===============
Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure you are able to view system and hidden files/ folders:
Search for...
ALCXMNTR.EXE
p2esocks_1046.dll
...using "Start | Search...".
-
Note that some of these file(s)/folder(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them in "Safe Mode".
-
Reboot.
===============
To help protect your system from hostile ActiveX content, or special 'downloadable' files:
Download, install and keep updated, SpywareBlaster. If you've installed it for the first time:
1) Check for any available updates; if present, they'll be automatically downloaded and installed.
2) Next, "Enable all protection".
3) Exit the program.
-
Note: Remember to regularly check for updates.
===============
After rebooting, rescan with hijackthis and post back a new log. Please let me know how your pc is now.
